DiaWise is a mobile application developed and operated by Livanelli LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the DiaWise mobile application (the "App").

2. What Information We Collect

Information Collected Automatically

We do not collect names, phone numbers, contact lists, location data, or any other personal information beyond what is described above. Your health data stays on your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not use your food photos, meal logs, glucose data, or health information to train AI models or for any purpose other than generating your requested guidance.

4. Data Storage and Security

On-Device Storage (Health and Personal Data)

Your meal logs, glucose readings, health profile, and personal settings are stored in an encrypted SQLite database on your device only. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. If you delete the App, this data is permanently deleted.

AI Analysis Data (Menu Scans, Food Questions)

When you scan a menu or ask a food question, content is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's API. We do not store the content of your food queries or menu photos. Anthropic's handling of data is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

Security Measures

Because health data is stored only on your device, we cannot recover it if you lose your device or uninstall the App. We recommend keeping regular device backups.

5. Third-Party Services

Anthropic (AI Guidance)

Food photos and questions you submit for analysis are processed by Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their API usage policies and privacy policy. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

Dexcom (CGM Integration — Phase 2)

If you choose to connect a Dexcom CGM device, glucose data is accessed via the Dexcom Developer API with your explicit authorization. Dexcom's handling of your data is governed by Dexcom's Privacy Policy. You can disconnect your CGM at any time from Settings.

Apple App Store / Google Play Store

If you download the App through the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google may collect information in accordance with their own privacy policies as part of the download and purchase process.

No Advertising Networks

We do not use any advertising networks, ad tracking, or ad-supported features. We do not share your data with advertisers.

No Data Brokers

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with data brokers or marketing companies.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Deleting Your Data

You can delete all locally stored data at any time from within the App via Settings → Privacy → Delete All Data. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting the App from your device also removes all locally stored data.

Early Access Email

If you signed up for early access notifications, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us at privacy@diawise.app.

California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@diawise.app.

European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@diawise.app.

7. Children's Privacy

DiaWise is designed for adults managing diabetes. The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@diawise.app.

8. Not a Medical Device

DiaWise is a food guidance companion app, not a medical device. The guidance provided by DiaWise is for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

DiaWise does not recommend insulin doses, suggest medication changes, or diagnose any condition. Always consult your healthcare team — endocrinologist, dietitian, or primary care physician — before making changes to your diabetes management plan.

If you are experiencing a hypoglycemic emergency or other diabetes-related medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on this app in a medical emergency.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify users through the App. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

We will not materially reduce your privacy protections without your explicit consent.
